The allure of Four Seasons Punta Mita is undeniable, and Villa No. 1 stands out as a pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity. This article delves into the exceptional features and amenities of this premier villa, offering a glimpse into the ultimate vacation experience.

I have never been one to fall for the ‘’Wish you were here’’ factor. I’m usually very happy charting my own luxey course, finding new secret hideaways, and looking for places that others have yet to find.
That is in fact, what happened in 2000 when I was lucky enough to savour the (then) unheard-of delights of the Four Seasons Hotel and Resort, Punta Mita, located on the Mexican Pacific coast, about 40 minutes’ drive north of Puerto Vallarta. This brand new five star hotel and resort was contemplating the first Four Seasons Hotel and Resort Private Villa project and as a self-confessed Four Seasons Hotel junkie I hurriedly rushed to be the No. 1 buyer and purchased Four Seasons Private Villa 2014 (almost) off plan.

I believe the questions should be the other way around…why NOT?
I wanted my own home, my own front door, my own private swimming pool and my own décor. Furthermore, I wanted to come and go as I pleased but I wanted the safety and security of Punta Mita gated development and the Four Seasons brand.
Not only could I dial 0 and ask for any room service menu item whenever I wanted, but I could also saunter down to the hotel and use the restaurants, spa, beach facilities, and the gym. Moreover, I could float to my heart’s content in the lazy river, and then call a bellman to run me back up the hill to my perch with sweeping ocean views and my own heavenly gourmet kitchen.

As my home became coveted by my friends and the development started to grow I began to rent my home when I was off exploring other perfect places. Consequently, this led to the birth of this company…. Fun fact …..Four Seasons Private Villa 2014 was the original home in a curated portfolio of now over 750+ homes, throughout Punta Mita and surrounding areas, and in Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Portugal, and other European destinations…….but I digress……
Now the envy begins… Four Seasons Private Villa No. 1
As Punta Mita development grew and more Four Seasons Private Villas were constructed, the developer DINE nabbed the absolutely best spot in the entire Punta Mita development for themselves…. No surprise there, and Four Seasons Private Villa No. 1 was conceived.
Without a doubt, occupying THE premier location in all of Punta Mita, and larger than any other Four Seasons Private Villa, with all the same access to Club Punta Mita, beach clubs, Jack Nicklaus golf courses, and Four Seasons Hotel and Resort facilities, THIS home had it all. It offered a private home with all the perks of a five-star hotel—now this was a truly desirable property!
Villa No.1 is situated on a large plot, on rocky cliff, at the edge of the ocean. Waves caress and play around the rocks in front of the home and the constantly changing sounds and vistas are utterly mesmerizing. An enormous infinity pool beckons for hours and hours of endless nature indulgence and when the drama becomes too much, the white sand beaches of Las Cuevas and Naviva Four Seasons Resort, on either side of the property, neutralize the senses and draw the attention back to the home itself.
Marvel at the large expanse of terraces. Ideal for relaxation and entertainment. Clever architecture allows floor-to-ceiling sliding windows to push back into the walls, creating flowing living/dining areas that just beckon for friends, family, and gatherings.
I like my home to incorporate beautifully crafted pieces from local artists and I’ll admit to coveting several textile pieces and appreciating the fresh take on mixing established techniques with fresh design concepts.
Five extremely spacious bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms will make the most demanding of guests happy. Two master suites vie for attention at the front of the property, offering bountiful ocean views and located mere steps from the pool and sun terraces. Three additional large guest suites each showcase private patios. Bathrooms are created for spa treatments with indoor/outdoor showers and soak-forever tubs.

Of course, my own home sweet home, and the other 45 Four Seasons Private Hillside and Cantiles Villas share the same architecture, access to the hotel, and jaw-dropping views but they are smaller in scale and do not offer quite the same level of seclusion, nor drama.
There is only one No. 1 and I will have to wait my turn to call it my own but in the meantime, I no longer covet it but highly recommend it to the discerning traveler looking for their own envy-making vacation! A perfect piece of paradise combining all the elements that make an exquisite vacation available to only a very lucky few.
A gated peninsular of 380 acres, bordered by the Pacific Ocean and Bay of Banderas, is home to the Four Seasons and St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, in addition to multiple small gated residential home developments.
With a tropical climate, the most favorable months are from November to May. Although June to November can bring showers and rainstorms, temperatures remain between 25-32°C (high 70s to low 80s°F).
