The addition of a quite lovely fireplace – which could equally be at home in a European manor house – and the heavy wooden coffee table imbue it with a sense of belonging and grounding.

There is no mistaking you are in Mexico – and specifically in Careyes – as what has become known on the Pacific Coast as “Careyes-Style” architecture is epitomized by the décor of this home. 

White walls, built-in beds and sofas, splashes of colour from locally-woven textiles, simple reed rugs, lots of lovely sunlight and simple handmade Mexican floor tiles create a comfortable, easy environment that does not distract from the marvelous views and the abundance of nature. 

Privacy is a priceless commodity – and each suite in this villa offers plenty of it. The Master is in the main house with another suite, accessed by its own staircase, above it.   

The other two suites are located away from the main house. One is in the garden surrounded by greenery.  The 4th suite, one level below the pool, offers views of the ocean that are simply stunning!

Costa Careyes is located on the southern coast of the State of Jalisco, about a 1-hour drive north of Manzanillo and 2 hours south of Puerto Vallarta. It’s a hidden gem of an enclave of about 70 very large, multi-million dollar homes – each shrouded in privacy – plus a colorful beachside village of casitas and townhomes. 

Careyes is a special place known by only a few very discerning A-list celebrities, musicians and travellers who seek out the exceptional and the undiscovered. And, if you love Polo, you are in for a treat, the community includes an established Polo Club and a town center with an art gallery, shops and restaurants.
