Painted timber beams stretch across the high ceiling, while large openings invite in the filtered glow of the surrounding pines and native scrubland. The seating area, assembled with built-in bohemian low-slung daybeds and soft linen cushions, creates a space that is both grounded and relaxed. The open kitchen is seamlessly integrated into the architecture, with hand-finished pine cabinetry, open shelving and matte white finishes. Thoughtfully appointed with essentials for slow, simple meals, it echoes the same quiet intentionality found throughout the house. A round wooden dining table sits beneath organic pendant lighting, casting subtle shadows that sway gently with the rhythm of the day. This understated visual cadence continues through the glass doors, which open onto a shaded terrace framed by yucca, pine and reed — a quietly beautiful space for lingering over a morning coffee or warm evening breeze.

The spacious bedroom unfolds as a retreat where form and stillness converge. A king-size bed rests beneath a pitched ceiling with suspended natural pendant lights. A/C is available in the main living area only, while the adjacent bedroom remains naturally cooled, encouraging restful nights in tune with the surroundings. As part of the retreat experience, there is no TV. Guests are invited to unplug and embrace the peaceful pace of nature. There is no swimming pool, as the home is conceived as a beachside escape, just minutes from the sand and sea. Our local ambassador can assist with buggy rentals. A car is recommended to fully enjoy the nearby beaches, villages, and open landscapes. During the busy summer season, restaurant reservations are essential — we recommend booking well in advance. Due to the idyllic natural setting, mosquitos and insects are common in Comporta. Wearing mosquito protection is highly recommended, especially at dusk and dawn. Peak festive and Summer are strictly non-refundable. Tipping house staff and concierge/ambassador teams is customary in Europe, but all tips should be based on level of service and satisfaction with the services provided. A security deposit might be required after booking confirmation (PT0271).

Perfectly placed for beach days, just a short ride away by rental buggy. Nearby, the village of Carvalhal offers upscale boutiques, laid-back cafés and a growing culinary scene, while horseback rides along the shore, rounds of golf with sweeping ocean views, barefoot walks on deserted sand and catamaran tours off the peninsula shape an easy, nature-rooted escape.
