A marvellous place to unwind, recharge and enjoy being pampered! An ideal base for exploring the mysteries of Andalusia and the perfect option for a small wedding or a warm southern European rustic-luxe winter retreat. The property, complete with its 6-bedroom cortijo (farmhouse), 3-bedroom casita (cottage), 2-bedroom converted stables and acres of magnificent grounds lends itself to so many uses.
The mellow tones of warm stucco and the clean mix of jasmine, rosemary and wildflowers fill you with a sense of well-being as soon as you cross the threshold to the Spanish retreat. The welcome continues as you enter the beautifully created country cortijo – where the owner hands you a glass of full-flavoured, local wine. The tone is set. This lovely home is a labour of love for the British-born, internationally renowned interior designer/owner – no detail in comfort or aesthetics has been forgotten. Hospitality, too, is first-class with a wonderful team of super-friendly staff to cater to your every whim.
While away your day poolside with nothing but the frantic buzzing of the bumblebees or the lowing of the Retinta cows in the adjacent pastures to keep you company. This area is known for its pleasant breezes, so lounging away the hours in the beautiful gardens is relaxing and refreshing – especially as the staff is on-hand to supply a constant flow of drinks and house-made snacks.
EMPHASIS ON GASTRONOMY
Boasting a large and well-maintained market garden the home not only delivers plenty of interior design eye candy but the freshest of home-grown edible produce. Year-round, garden abounds with leafy greens and the freshest fruit making a true farm to table experience.
Breakfasts are served in the great room or al fresco – with home-made jams and breads, pastries, sweet breads, tomato confit, cheeses, fresh fruit and fresh squeezed juices.
Lunch can be taken poolside or on the covered patio (€) – three courses of light, simple, fresh fare with lots of Spanish classics.
Dinners (€) are casually elegant, best enjoyed under the stars by candlelight in the central courtyard or in the cozy but elegant great room. Three to four courses of tasty Spanish dishes specially prepared with fresh ingredients purchased daily.

When you reserve the whole property, you are spoiled for choice for places to gather with your favourite people either inside or outside the main farmhouse, outside the Casita or by the Stables.
Enter the main farmhouse home and you will come to a large comfortable “great room” with a big fireplace cozy chairs and comfy sofas which is perfect for socializing or dining room. Walls are a rosy hue of stucco which, coupled with the red earth outside, seems to bathe the home in a happy, warm glow. Country chic décor is a key theme here, where use of hand-painted ceramic tiles and reclaimed woods add an original charm that will lull you into a state of contented luxe. Outside, the lawn gardens lead to a large, heated swimming pool peppered with sun loungers.
Meanwhile, the Casita is attached to the main farmhouse though it enjoys an independent access and its own more private garden with another swimming pool.
The Stables are equally served with their own access with nearby parking and join the main house via the immaculately steeped market garden and pool garden. Stop and pick your own strawberries on the way to breakfast.
All bedrooms are beautifully proportioned with exterior access either from patios or terraces around the communal courtyard or the gardens. Many rooms have views over the pastures and gently rolling hills of Andalucia. There is an emphasis on comfy beds, great linens and snuggly armchairs. Fantastic use of reclaimed wood from old houses which has been given a unbelievable brand new construction an authentic Old-World charm.
Bathrooms are quirky but well-appointed with claw-foot tubs, huge walk-in rain showers, polished concrete and the clever use of hand-painted, twist-on-traditional Spanish tiles.
