A simple floor plan and patios on the entry level combined with plenty of windows to ogle the view make for great large or small-scale entertaining. Meals can be eaten al fresco in the large, bright dining room or even poolside – both have the same stunning views which you will never tire of. The ladies in the kitchen are all locals and create everything from hearty regional specialties to light, simple meals.

Breakfast Included: Usually served buffet-style in the dining room or terrace. Local breads abound as do fresh juices, hams and cheeses, homemade marmalades and eggs made-to-order.

This Douro home has plenty of places and spaces for everyone to feel at home, both inside and out. In addition to the lovely reception rooms, a TV room with games tables and well-stocked CD library makes for relaxing on rainy days or cozy evenings.

All bedrooms have a slightly different motif, but the theme is family antiques and simple country decor, creature comforts and not too much clutter. The heady views from each bedroom over the vineyards and Douro Valley are the main attraction here. All bathrooms are completely updated and feature soothing polished grey concrete, 5-star hotel amenities and rain showers. Bathrooms differ in size.
