A fabulous base for those looking for wine-tasting holidays, hiking getaways or to simply escape into nature and learn more about one of the oldest cultures in Europe.

Quite literally surrounded by rows and rows of vines, the farmhouse and winery in the heart of the oldest demarcated wine region in the world has belonged to the same family since 1885, having been rebuilt and enlarged at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, tradition merges with comfort and elegant interior design to prepare the farmhouse for guests and wine-lovers alike.

Fun times are to be had in the main interior living area which combines a cozy lounge area and formal dining table crowned by high ceilings with raw wooden beams. The effect is bright and airy with a distinct farmhouse ambience mixed with modern comfort.

Outside, there are plenty of areas for a cheeky glass of wine from bottles available from the winery. Early evening dinners outside among the vines are also a treat during the summer months and early autumn (upon request).

The bedrooms are where the interior design of this renovated Douro Valley Farmhouse truly comes into force. The original stone masonry remains center stage around the windows, soothingly contrasted by the light wooden floorboards and neutral walls.

In contrast to the historic age of this home, the bathrooms are sparkling and modern with glass walk-in showers served with rain-head showers.
